1 мая 2000 г. состоялась мировая премьера фильма известного британского режиссера Ридли Скота «Гладиатор». Картина имела ошеломляющий успех. Только Оскаров было присуждено 5, в том числе в категориях «Лучший фильм» и «Лучшая мужская роль». И действительно, в «Гладиаторе» все с большой буквы: режиссура, актерские работы, работа оператора, дизайн костюмов, монтаж, музыка. Можно перечислять и дальше, но хотелось бы остановиться на другом аспекте – историческом.
